Falmouth (6 miles) has three beaches: Gyllyngvase with its own summer cafè, sandy with some rock pools. Swanpool nestled in a cove, sandy with restaurant and large car park. Fifteen minutes walk away is the Golden Lion Inn which serves good food in a lovely lake side setting with beautiful gardens. This 274 acre watersports centre is fifteen minutes walk away next to the Golden Lion Inn. It is open for water sports and is a renowned bird watching area (Pied-billed Grebe, Lesser Scaup, BaillonŐs Crake and Caspian Tern). Also great for rainbow trout fishing.
